Coronavirus: Abu Dhabi new entry test rules starting Thursday. Possibility of going 6 days a week to AD by combining the tests.
???? Residents can alternate the two types of tests to enter the emirate.
From Thursday 27, a change in the entry regulations into the Emirate of Abu Dhabi will require people to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test with a validity of six days, as well as a negative laser test or DPI.
Alternatively, commuters can test negative on a PCR test with a validity of 48 hours in order to gain entry.
The regulatory change, which will take effect on Thursday, August 27, was announced by the Abu Dhabi media office.
“The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Committee, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, is approving two tests to enter the emirate as of August 27, 2020, strengthening precautionary measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, ”the announcement read.
Entry restrictions
Abu Dhabi has put in place entry restrictions since May in order to limit the spread of COVID-19. Initially, travelers had to present negative PCR tests to be admitted.
The DPI test, which provides results in minutes and costs less than the AED 370 PCR test, was introduced as a rapid test medium for people aged 12 and over. The AED 50 DPI test is now available in five centers in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and six centers outside the emirate.
Until Thursday, a negative DPI test result was enough to get entry for people aged 12 and older. But the regulatory change also requires an additional PCR test.
Regulation explained
